Double Degree Program

A joint study program agreed between UNIMORE and the Radboud Univesiteit (Nijmegen, NL) allows to obtain the Master's Degree in Physics from Unimore and the M.Sc. in Physics and Astronomy of the RU at the same time, after spending one year at each institution.

The Faculty of Science of the RU is a European reference center for research in physics, home to the HFML, one of the European facilities for the production of high magnetic fields for the study of matter in extreme conditions, and an institutional partner in the Virgo and LISA collaborations for the study of gravitational waves. The M.Sc. in Physics and Astronomy offers training in fundamental and particle physics, physics of molecules and materials, and neurophysics.

The program is accessed through a selection at the beginning of the two-year master's degree, normally in October. Admitted students will spend one year at the home university and one year at the partner university. A study plan will be established at the beginning of the first year, integrating competences obtained at either institutions through courses and seminars and finalized to a joint research activity in one of the proposed research topics to be carried in the second year. Finally, the attendees will defend their thesis at one of the two institutions.

Attendees of the double degree program are subjected to the normal university fee at the home university and are eligible for the Erasmus fellowship under the usuall call issued every year (normally in January)
