Proficiency test (a.w.a. TEST OFA)

Bachelor freshmen have to pass a proficiency test within their first year:
To prepare for the test, students might refer to the preparatory math course (in italian).
The test can be taken several times, there is no limit on the number of attempts.
Enrollment is not bound to passing the test.
Students who do not pass the test within their first year can not enrol in the second year of the bachelor program. For the Computer Science program only: passing the test might be mandatory to register for some of the first year courses. There are two alternative ways to take the test:

  • TOLC - I
The TOLC-I test is organized by CISIA (Consorzio Interuniversitario Sistemi Integrati per l’Accesso) and is composed of four sections:
    • Mathematics (20 questions)
    • Logic (10 questions)
    • Science (10 questions)
    • Text comprehension (10 questions)
Scores are computed in the following way:
    • 1 point for each correct answer
    • 0 points for each non given answer
    • -0.25 for each incorrect answer
Starting from September 2020, Test OFA can be taken directly at the FIM Department.
This test is composed and evaluated exactly as the Mathematics section of the TOLC-I test. To enrol in the Department bachelor programs students must achieve a 10 point score. To take the Test OFA-FIM students will have to access UniMoRe DOLLY and search for the portal dedicated to the desired bachelor program: OFA-FISICA, OFA-INFORMATICA or OFA-MATEMATICA. Test session dates will be announced through DOLLY portals.

As soon as such portals are available, a notification will be posted on this Website.
UniMoRe credentials are required to access DOLLY. Students receive UniMoRe credentials when pre-enrolling, thus students will be able to take the test even if they are not enrolled yet.
