CBI.ATTRACT: A program to experiment real innovation with CERN

The University of Modena and Reggio is among the proponents of the CBI.ATTRACT program, coordinated by the University of Bologna, together with the University of Ferrara and Almacube, and in collaboration with IdeaSquare CERN.

It is a program that allows students, enrolled in Master's degree courses from the three universities, to explore the potential of new technologies developed by European research centers and experience how to transform these technologies into real innovations.

CBI.ATTRACT, starting in March 2023, is a 16-week program in which 5 multidisciplinary student teams investigate new cutting-edge technologies to identify its potential and develop new solutions of value for society, in accordance to the Sustainable Development Goals, and for people, thanks to the adoption of a human-centered approach. The program includes inspirational and interaction meetings with IdeaSquare, CERN's Open Innovation laboratory, and a visiting period (week) to work with the team of researchers who developed the technology object of the challenge.

The official language of the program is English. It requires a part-time commitment and it provides an international mobility grant for selected students. Master's students of any disciplinary sector of the University of Bologna, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and the University of Ferrara can apply. The program is structured as an Excellence Education Course at the University of Bologna and it provides for the recognition of ECTS as free-choice exams.
